Custom Properties not Available outside All Metrics

Hello,

I created a set of Custom Properties for some of my VMs in vRops 6.6.1. I can see these Custom Properties and their values in All Metrics View. But if i try to use them in a Group or View filter these Custom Properties are not available. The Collection of the Properties is enabled in the Policy (by default).

I found this Blog Post which describes my situation and for his Environment it worked: http://vman.ch/vrops-suite-api-properties-import/

Any hint where the problem might be?

Best Regards,

Markus

Same for me. We use custom properties mainly for our automation so they are accessed through the API. The blog in your post is for an older version of vrops so it may have been removed. It is 50/50 if this was by design or not

Hello,

I have now added the Properties to a bunch of VMs and now it works (before I have tested only with a few VMs). There seems to be a break even where these properties are "indexed". I hope GSS can confirm that.

Best Regards,

Markus

Hi guys

Properties list loaded for random 5 objects, that’s why recently added property can be delayed or don’t appear at all ( the same valid for views as well etc.)

For such case you can select  corresponding object directly, and all object properties will be appear in the tree.

“Select object” button position is shown in attachment:
