vSphere 6.5 Essential Plus - Storage vMotion

I've 3 hosts with iSCSI shared storage and with local storage too.

Temporary I need to move a VM from shared to local, but when I try to move the VM I got error about missing licensing to do Storage vMotion.

But if I try to move from host1 shared storage to host2 local storage the process is allowed.

Why I got this different behavior?

Regards

Luca

I haven't thinked about this before.

However it shoud be true as enhanced vmotion (migrating both VM process and VM's disks) needs only vMotion license.

Hi!

Essentials Plus license doesn't have storage vmotion option.

Are you sure that you have Essentials Plus license installed and assigned?

Can you check Licesing tab on all hosts?

Hello,

yes I can confirm, I've 6.5 Essential Plus on 3 hosts and vCenter got with this license too.

I've read something that if I use together compute and storage vMotion it's a "kind" of vMotion and it's the reason that it works...

If I use just storage vMotion this isn't allow with Essential Plus...
