Writable Volume and Git

We are having issues when developers log in with a writable and using git. Simple GIT reset commands do not work at GIT claims files exists when they do not. If the writable is disabled and the user logs in all work fine. They are logging in to a linked clone from a non-persistent Floating Desktop Pool.

Any experience out there with Git while using a writable volume(UIA + Profile)?

Bumping this for visibility. I have been made aware of a group of devs using Git and TortoiseGIt and writables throw it for a loop, with long filename issues. I'm experimenting with different git clients, but want to see if anyone else has encountered these issues?
