vSAN 6.6.1 - Storage Device Serviceability Issue (Turning locator LED)

Hello,

When trying to turn on the locator LED of "SSD" disk in vSphere UI as a screenshot below, the LED of "HDD" disk in a real chassis is turned on. In the same way, if you click to turn on the locator LED button of "HDD" disk in vSphere screen, the LED of "SSD" disk in the chassis is turned on.

What cause would you suspect?

For your information, when configuring vSAN at the first place, "Automatic" was chosen in Disk Claiming. So, there would be no human error on this issue. For another information, storage controller is in HBA mode but your formal document says vSAN 6.6.1 supports locator LED function even when controller is in HBA mode.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Hi Kuhyung,

What is your Hardware vendor? Do you have the necessary vendor VIBs installed on the hosts?

For HP is hpssacli, and Dell is OpenManage (OMSA).

I have a Dell server with a LSI 9207 HBA and I could never get this to work either... It seems very hit or miss.
