routing options with a standard switch

I have 2 VMs on a standalone esxi host, both VMs are connected to the same standard vswitch.

VM1 is a Windows 8 guest configured with a 10.1.1.x/21 network

VM2 is a Linux Guest with a 192.168.1.x/24 network.

I need to make them talk, however my options are limited with a standard switch.

Could any one suggest a virtual appliance I could use as a router to make my vms talk to each other?

Alternative methods to make this work are also welcome (except for a suggestion to make them multi homed or change ips.)

Thank you.

Haven't used dd-wrt VA, but pfSense is pretty simple to set up with what you want to do.

One popular option is pfSense as a VM but there are many others. For hardware, an L3 switch would be needed since this would require routing.
