workstation virtual hard drive unsuccessful

sorry for the lame question, used virtualbox before no issues. trying on vmware and not off to a good start. try to install windows on the guest os and get this. not a lot of info around. any help is much appreciated pastedImage_5.png

tried a win 7 and 10 iso both give me this. i must be overlooking something stupid and small. but its 6:08 in the am plz help

Let's start off with the basic info:  What is your host OS?  What version of VMware Workstation are you using?

And attach the vmx file for one of the guests - want to verify several if the CD-ROM drive settings.

host OS : win 10 64bit

newest VMware 14

only vmx file i can see is a doc with one line

but doesnt seem like any cdrom info ur looking for

every video ive watched on youtube their player goes straight to the windows 10 start here page to install the OS, mine just gets stuck here even tho ive followed the guides step by step.
