I have a Windows 10 Host running Workstation 9, and various guests ranging from Windows 7 and 2008 through Windows 2012 R2. All guests behave the same - when the Display Scaling on the Host is set to 100%, I am besieged with problems like the mouse pointer is offset , applications don't maximize properly, etc. However, when I scale to 125%, everything works great. Other than using Unity Mode, how can I work with a guest VM when scaling is set to 100%? The problem with 125% is it kills so much screen real estate.
