Adobe Pro DC app volume and Windows 10 default PDF handler

Every time we connect to a new VDI session, we are prompted to set Adobe Pro DC as the default PDF handler.

Has anyone run into a similar problem while making an Adobe Pro DC app volume?  I haven't been able to find a registry key to save and push through UEM.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, Microsoft has significantly complicated the assignment of file-type associations (FTAs) with Windows 10, and it's no longer a simple matter of updating registry values. There are cryptographic hashes generated by unpublished algorithms involved now, so third-party software like VMware App Volumes and UEM that could easily set these associations on the fly in Windows 7 can't do it in Windows 10 (yet? hopefully?).

You could give writables volumes a try. We do see that FTA's are being kept when using it.

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Associations

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ApplicationAssociationToasts
