VMware Workstation 14 Player - Virtualize Intel VT-x option is not available

Hello,

I've VMware Workstation 14 Player (without licence) on Linux Mint 18.2 (64bit) and CPU Intel Core i7-4702MQ with enabled virtualization in Bios, but when I trying to create new virtual machine on VMware Player, I cann't to enable "Virtualize Intel VT-x ...". This option is grayed.

What special is required ?

I had the same problem.

Please create the VM, but dont start it (Finish). From the opening screen, then select the VM-settings of your newly created VM and check if you can check the box now.

If this does not help then reply back and I will write a list you need to check.

Have you installed KVM or another type 1 HyperVisor on your host? If so, it will use your CPU's Virtualization features and they won't be available to VMware. You have to stop the modules of that HyperVisor from running in order to get VMware to work.
