NSX Manager communication failure after Vcenter certificate renewal

Hello,

My customer did a renew of the vCenter (v6.0) certificate due to VMCA problem.

But he didn't remembered that a NSX Manager (v6.2.5) was registered to this vCenter for Trend Micro Deep Security Antimalware (v9.6SP1).

The problem is that the NSX Manager do not appear anymore in the vsphere webclient. The Networking & Security icon is present but the NSX HOME > MANAGE page shows us a registration missing alarm with NSX Manager.

So we tried to connect to the WebUI of the NSX Manager to register the NSX to the vCenter again. It is impossible to authenticate to the WebUI. The user/password is incorrect.

The same problem with CLI from the vsphere console of the NsxManager VM : user/password incorrect.

We are quite sure of the admin /password and we did some tests with other possible password without success.

Is it possible that the registration problem could have an effect with the login to the NSX Manager ?

Do you think the only way could be to unregister manually the NSX Manager from the vcenter and to redeploy a new one ?

Is there a procedure to reset the admin password of the NSX Manager ?

Thanks for your assistance,

Best regards,

Julien.

Hello,

Luckily, we were able to solve easly the problem. Indeed, we founded the right password and we registered the NSX Manager with the vCenter again.

Although the status of the registration of the NSX with the vCenter was ok (connected), it was necessary to redo the operation to approve the new certificate.

Thanks,

Julien.
