Creating Windows Server From Templates

Hi folks, I hope I post it in the right place. If you help me remembering what should I do in order to deploy a windows server from a template and don't counter problems as much as I know sysprep is involved so if you please mention a video or document to help me remember the steps.

I know how to create a template but I can't remember the case with window/sysprep files

thanks in Advance

1. Build a VM with standard configuration you want.

2. Patch it with all latest windows updates.

3. Install all standard application and utilities you want to keep.

4. Create a snapshot so you can revert if you encounter any issue.

5. Now run sysprep >  Go to folder C:\Windows\system32\sysprep > run sysprep.exe as administrator > choose the following options with generalize check marked.

6. Once system shut down > right click and clone to template. Now your template is ready.

You have also base image aside with snapshot so if you face any issue in template, you can create new one from base image.

There's no any specific difference between server and windows client os sysprep.
