Network configuration is missing. Ensure that /etc/vmware/networking exists.

Workstation 14 install.  Everything but Network seems to be working at this point.  When I try to go to virtual network editor or try to run vmware-netcfg I get the error message: Network configuration is missing. Ensure that /etc/vmware/networking exists.

I have also tried to run:

sudo vmware-modconfig --console --install-all

But all I get is this message:

[AppLoader] GLib does not have GSettings support.

sh: /usr/lib/systemd/scripts/vmware: No such file or directory

Unable to stop services

What Linux distro are you installing VMware Workstation on?

What do you see when navigating to /etc/vmware/networking?

Also, the logs might be able to provide more information on the error message. The logs are located at /var/log/vmware/hostd-n.log
