Virtual Machine Startup/Shutdown

I set up VMs in vCenter (v6.0), using the thick client, to start and stop automatically with the system under the Virtual Machine Startup and Shutdown Settings, but when the ESXi host boots, the VMs are not starting.

Any ideas?

Is the ESXi host member of an HA cluster?

No,,

No clusters configured..

There is no SAN, so no DRS / HA.

a vCenter, with a Datacenter, and 1 ESXi Host.
