Fusion Pro 8.5.7 Upload to Server

I am trying to upload a local VM in fusion to an esxi system. I can connect to the system however about twenty min into the upload I get an error.

Failed to stream from disk: /Volumes/Macintosh HD/Virtual Machines/Windows 7 x64.vmwarevm/Windows 7 x64.vmdk.

Reason: Input/output error

I have plenty of space on the esxi system so I am not sure what is going on.

The esxi system is 5.1 The hardware version on my VM in fusion is 8.

IIRC, the upload to ESXi server is a two-step process using the OVF Tool in the background. It will create an OVF on the local disk first and then upload the OVF from the local disk to the ESXi server. So there should also be enough free space on the local disk aside from the ESXi datastore.

You can should be able to see the OVF Tool (and its detailed options) by looking at Terminal.

ps -ef | grep ovftool

From the options you should see where the OVF Tool verbose log file (--X:logfile option) is stored and perhaps looking at the log file might give further clue what is wrong.

Thanks for pointing out where the log file is located. I don't see anything in the log that comes out to me so I have included the log file here if someone can parse out the error.
