Module VPMC power on failed. Failed to start virtual machine

I just got a new 2017 MacBook Pro and copied over my 2 VMs (win 10, OS X 10.12) from my old 2011 MBP.  When I opened the VMs I chose the the "moved" option.  Neither VM will open with both giving the same error.

I am running Fusion 8.5.8

I would take a look at the comments at the bottom of this post to see if they help?

Unable to install VMware Player: Module VPMC power on failed - Ask Ubuntu

"I encountered this problem on my Mac after upgrading to a new Macbook pro. I went to the VM settings, then Processor and Memory tab, then "advanced options" and uncheck both options. I was then able to boot up the virtual machine."

De-selecting the virtualization features does indeed allow the vm to start up. However, then everything inside that requires those features breaks. Therefore, this is not a solution unless you don't actually need those features.

I agree, it could possibly be a bug. Do you have support with VMware to log this?

It's been reported to Support earlier (see this thread). With this Preview version, my Ubuntu and Window 7 guests now open; however, my MacOS Sierra guest still won't open. (The error message has changed slightly, and I posted here to let them know.)

If your issue is related to the Virtualization options, the MacOS 10.12 machine should work after the next Preview version is released. (Per VMware Support, 20 September)
