vROM 6.6 trying to exclude certain hosts from alerts

    middave Novice

I'm trying to modify the alerts on specific w2k3 virtual machines...their local disks are at 90% capacity or they have Ballooning memory, the disk doesn't change and the memory is maxed out at 4GB (32 bit)  I want to exclude these virtual machines from specific alerts.

Veeam One Monitor allows for this.

          1. You need to create a Custom Group that contains the VM's in question:

-You can add them explicitly to the group by name, or use a dynamic filter based on other factors, like the parent folder or cluster, or even the operating system, I believe.

-Click the preview button (lower left - custom group dialog) to test your new group and see if it contains the members you're looking for.

          2. Then you need to create a Sub-Policy off your standard policy, that disables the alerts you don't want to see, then apply it to that Custom Group.

For our setup, I have created a group of VMs that are descendants of a special cluster that don't want to see alerts for, then created an ALERTS-OFF policy and applied it to the custom group.
