Resolution keeps reseting itself

how can i keep a specific resolution in the host?

i noticed 2 things:

1) if 3D accelaration is not enabled, the resolution keeps resetting to 640x480

2) if it is enabled, it keeps resetting the resolution to 'fit screen' (even if the "auto fit" is not selected!)

3) how can i set a permanent resolution?

The only possible explanation for this is that there is something wrong with the VMware Tools install. Attempt to remove VMware Tools. Reboot the VM. Re-install VMware tools, reboot again and see if this makes a difference.

well, the only way i was able to fix this(without trying first) that i did this reinstall part, but then also removed the "use max resolution as 1600x1200"(or any other smaller ones) option and that actually fixed it, because it still kept fitting it to the screen with that option on. (although the actual screen is bigger than that)

so dunno what is the purpose of the option anyway...

lol.... and even that one obviously worked for only once or twice and now it is back again....
