Setup NSX Manager

I have recently upgraded to VCSA 6.5 and since then I tried to re-register my NSX manager to the new vCenter (because we haven't started using NSX at all) and it fails saying:

  • Certificate verification failed. Cause - Connection timed out (Connection timed out)

I did a fresh redeployment of this appliance and still nothing.  Any idea what is going on?

Verify your DNS entries for PSC,vCenter and NSX Manager. also NTP matters. Make sure all these components are in time sync

Did you replaced the VCSA certificate during/after the upgrade ?

What is the NSX version ?

Did you tried registering NSX with IP&FQDN ? Same error both the time ?

Are you getting any alerts when connecting to VCSA via IP&FQDN ?

Note: You should not try to register fresh instance of VCSA with old NSX instance (In this case even the NSX should be new one)

To begin, PSC is embedded into the VCSA.  After that I was able to ping from both appliances using hostnames and confirmed that the NTP is set and working on both appliances.

I have not replaced any certs, did not think that would be needed.

I have attempted to register NSX to the vCenter with hostname and it fails, but with IP it works.  For the inventory service neither IP or hostname works.

I did the upgrade to the VCSA from a windows based vCenter and then removed the old NSX manager and controllers and redeployed.
