Win10 1607 Outlook Connect a smartcard

We have Horizon 7.1 and Win10 1607. When Outlook is launched, users intermittently receive "Connect a smartcard" instead of PIN prompt. Issue occurs on both Tera1 and Tera2 devices. Outlook is the only app which intermittently can't see smartcards while all other apps see the certs/cards. We require use of smartcards.

Horizon Agent was installed with both USB and smartcard redirection. Both USB and smartcard redirection works, except in Outlook, every once in a while.

Any ideas?

Do you need to setup anything with the "USB spid" settings on the config of the terra2 device via its web interface. just a thought?

Both zero client and Windows see the USB smartcard readers and haven't had to manually bridge any USB devices. With both USB and smartcard redirection enabled (and working), manually bridging does not do anything positive. It in fact stops redirection from working.

We just migrated our customer base to Windows 10 1607 on Horizon View 7.2/vSphere 6.5 U1. We are seeing the exact same issue where Outlook 2016 / Skype for Business 2015 will just randomly not see the smart card (sits at "Connect smartcard".  We use ActivClient 7.1.171 (testing 7.1.0.184) for the smart card middleware. When Outlook displays the CredUI and says to connect a smartcard, we can access PKI enabled websites, for example, and it will see a connected smartcard and that access works. Outlook 2016 will still sit at the CredUI requesting to connect smartcard. We have also tried to remove the smart redirector and bridge the usb smart card with no luck (loads to the Lock Screen and prompts for username/password).

We also see the same issue on a Horizon View 6.2.4/vSphere 5.5 U3E environment. Exact same random not seeing a smart card connected. We use the 90M software as the smart card middleware in that environment.
