Migrate Log Insight authentication from AD to vIDM

Hi,

I’m trying to migrate the authentication of Log Insight from AD to vIDM and having some difficulties.

After login to Log Insight with SSO I’m redirected to a blank page.

I think it’s because the redirection of the vIDM is to an IP address instead of a hostname. Is there a way to change this?

Any advice?

I'm using vRA integrated vIDM with the latest versions (vRA 7.3, log insight 4.5)

I can verify that the problem is the use of ip instead of dns.

As vIDM  is only supported with a LB and in that case it makes sense to only support dns.

There might be a way around, but I dont know it.

After replacing the certificate and include both FQDN and IP it works great.

I still wish the vIDM will forward to FQDN instead of IP.

I will open a case next week and will update here.

Please review VMware Blog https://blogs.vmware.com/management/2017/06/vidm-log-insight.html that may clear up and possibly resolve this issue.
