Horizon View and ADFS 3.0

So I noticed that in our View admin console it has some options for a SAML Authenticator and since we're using ADFS 3.0 as out main SSO idp for a number of systems I was thinking of making use of it for View.

After some reading most of the docs talk about using the VMware identity server, is that a required middle piece?  Or can the connection servers talk SAML directly with ADFS?

Also does anyone have some info on which attributes view wants via SAML?  (IE info for setting up the ADFS side for View's SAML auth?)

Thanks.

Connection server cannot communicate to SAML without VIDM and VIDM is required.

Not sure why I didn't see the response.

Though if that's the case it's odd that when you go to edit a connection server in the View admin console under authentication it has an option to configure SAML.

Though I haven't found any info on configuring it via that part, while the options are simple there isn't anything saying how the other side should be set.
