View 7.2 w Red Hat 6.6 Agent install

I'm trying to install the View 7.2 agent on a Red Hat 6.6 OS. VMware tools installed with 0 issues. On the agent installation I'm getting nothing in the viewagent-installer.log

The only thing that was logged was  "Your VM is configured as 2D/vSGA, Please check guide for...." No success or fail logs.

I've verified that DNS is correct by pinging broker by name. My password does not have a special character.

The interesting part to me, is I've set up a netmon packet capture from the broker. I can see the pings come in and out. I do not see one packet come in when installing the agent. It's as if the agent fails to install prior to connecting to the broker so it never tires.

I've tried the -k option to the FQDN of the domain controller and even enabled the "store password using reversible encryption" setting in AD.

Other than the install log. Is there anywhere else I can look to see why the install is not registering the agent? Is there anything I'm missing?

vCenter\ESXi 6.0 U3

Horizon View 7.2

Linux Agent 7.2.0-5603763

Thanks for any help!

Hello,

From your description, it looks you are using old guide to install 7.2 agent into un-managed desktop, which is not officially supported:

* Un-managed desktop: when install agent, you need tell installer broker address, broker admin credential, so that installer can talk to broker to register the machine to broker. When create desktop pool, you select the registered machine.

* vCenter managed desktop: when install agent, you do not need tell installer any information about broker. When create desktop pool, you need select the VM via vCenter, and broker will talk to the agent via vCenter API (broker writes the machine.id tag into the VM's vmx configuration file, and agent can retrieve it, then agent parse the machine.id which contains the broker information and talk to broker).

From 7.0.1, Horizon for Linux switched from un-managed desktop to vCenter managed deskop, since vCenter managed desktop is more reliable and more functional.

How to install the agent?

  - sudo ./install_viewagent.sh -A yes

How to create desktop pool: Create a Manual Desktop Pool for Linux

Thanks.
