Vmware fault tolerance question

Dear Users,

I have a question regarding Fault Tolerance. Lets say we have two servers. On one server a windows virrtual machine is running. Upon enabling Fault tolerance, a secondary virtual machine shall be created on the second server.

If the primary virtual machine fails due to a server failure, the secondary virtual machine starts instantly. But what happens with the DATA that the secondary virtual machine is using and creating while the primary is off. is this data lost or will it be synchronized again when it does work?

The failover from the Primary to Secondary virtual machine is dynamic with the Secondary continuing execution from the exact point where the Primary left off. It happens automatically with no data loss, no downtime, and little delay. Clients see no interruption. After the dynamic failover to the Secondary virtual machine, it becomes the new Primary virtual machine. A new Secondary virtual machine is spawned automatically.

Yes, but the creation of a new secondary machine takes a couple of seconds. What happens with that data created by the primary machine, while the secondary was being created? is it lost?

The new secondary machine will be an exact replica of the primary machine, it will take time obviously to complete the activity and it is completely automatic.

Meanwhile the primary machine should not go down.
