Hi ...
I have WS10 and trying to list shared VMs. Running the following command from the commandline:
vmrun.exe" -T ws-shared -h localhost -u muser -p ******* list
Then, I get only: a blinking cursor (for hours...and hours....seems like nothing is happing!)
I hope someone knows the solution soon!
Thanks.
Cheers....
vmrun.exe" -T ws-shared -h localhost -u muser -p ******* list
What is the double-quote(") doing after vmrun.exe in the above line?
Hi...
Thanks for your reply
Sorry, that was inserted while I was posting the question...
Please, ignore it.
I am still trying to find the solution. Is there a specific log file I can refer to find the solution.
Thanks...
Cheers!
Have you checked to see if the VM was actually started? Since you appear to be using a shared VM, it will not launch the Workstation GUI (If I understand correctly). Once the command has gone off to start the VM, try to remote into it and see if it has in fact started up.
The shared VM starts with host. I can ping it and it is running.
If it is not running the list command would display a message that "Running VM: 0" or something similar to this nature.
I think VIX has an issue to connect to the host to get the list of VM...
It might be the issue with VIX not able to resolve the HOST...
Is there a way making sure VIX is resolving the host, so it can connect to the host.
Maybe, that is the reason vmrun is hanging.
You do not necessarily need to specify a host - so for a test simply try "vmrun list"
Hi,
If Ulli's answer doesn't work, try the solution from ElCoyote at this post:
