Issue with WinZip on VDI

Hi,

I am trying to use WinZip 21.5 on VDI environment, but the below issue is blocking me to use it, "I am sure there is no policy's applied"

WinZip-21.5-issue.PNG

Note: The application is installed and activated on Parent image

Please let me know how to fix it

Thank you,

Vkmr.

Are you using Windows Information Protection (WIP)? Please check and read following articles.

Hi Ivan,

Yeah I saw that and installing WinZip 21.5 using command which includes "INSTALLEDP=0" [where I am saying to install WinZip 21.5 with out enterprise data protection].

Note: I am installing WinZip on parent image.

I am not facing any problem using WinZip on individual VM's, but I am facing this issue if I use WinZip on VDI Desktop.

Please let me know if I am missing something.

Thank you,

Vkmr.

Let me check in my lab environment if I can reproduce.

I tried to reproduce, but I don't receive the same message. Mine just works.

Installed Winzip in base image --> Snapshot --> Push image from new snapshot --> Start VDI desktop --> Start Winzip --> OK

I used the following command line for installation:

msiexec /i winzip.msi /qb! INSTALLEDP=0

I only use some default policy settings for UEM and nothing else. Maybe you can rule out GPO's and/or other settings by enabling just the minimum required settings.

Thank you so much for information, are you installing WinZip version 21.5? because I had problem with only version 21.5

however I will try to create pool under some other OU and will check this issue.

I checked with the same version you are using (Winzip 21.5).

is there ant thing I am missing? whom I have to contact now?

Thank you,

What happens if you uninstall User Environment Manager ? If it is still a "No Go" I think it's best to contact the Winzip Vendor(Corel Corporation)

Kind regards, Raymond Twitter: @raymond_himself

Check if there are any messages in the eventviewer or log files (if they exist) that may be related to your issue. If there is nothing to be found there, I agree with Raymond. Try to rule out components/services and otherwise contact Winzip.

Hi Ivan,

No event log's, we fixed this issue by moving winzip back to app stack

Thank you,

Vkmr.

Thanks for reply Raymond. It is working in the presents of UEM on individual machine, but the problem is, it is not working on VDI pool

we fixed it with the help of app volumes now
