Virtual printer error after upgrading to VMware Workstation 12.5.6

Hi, I have just upgraded to VMware Workstation 12.5.6 on Windows 7 64 bit: when I start a virtual machine, I get this error:

"serial0: Unable to launch virtual printer proxy"

I found a similar topic here:

https://communities.vmware.com/thread/518809

but the suggested solution (add printers.enabled = "TRUE" to "%programdata%\VMware\VMware Workstation\settings.ini") doesn't work.

Hi,

I have exactly the same Problem with Workstation Pro 12.5.6 on Windows 7 x64 Pro.

And the line  printers.enabled = "TRUE" is in the Settings.ini as well.

Regards,

Jost

Hi, thanks for your confirmation.

So, I guess it's a VMware Workstation bug.

Thank you very much - it works! Uninstalling 12.5.6 and reinstalling worked exactly as you said. No error message while starting a vm with activated ThinPrint anymore. Thank you!
