VMware VASA and Storage I/O Control

Hello,

in our vCenter we've Storage I/O activatet for many Datastores (connected with FibreChannel at IBM SVC).

As I understood VASA is the API for external connectors such as IBM SVC VASA, not essential for I/O Control. Does Storage I/O Control work when IBM SVC VASA is offline?

There's no Information in the books so I would be glad if somebody has an answer for that question.

Thanks in advance

Ronald

Storage I/O Control does not depend on VASA or information from the array. It uses stats within vSphere to detect whether a datastore is under contention and if so applies the disk shares accordingly.
