Under windows 8.1, when i connect an Usb to the guest system, then i have in loop the connection / disconnection process and can only stop it be physically removing the usb device. It's not on all devices, for example with my old iphone 5s their is no problem, however with the new ipad pro i have the problem.
I try the quirk explain here: Problems using some USB devices in a virtual machine (774) | VMware KB
usb.quirks.device0 = "vid:pid skip-refresh"
usb.quirks.device0 = "vid:pid skip-setconfig"
usb.quirks.device0 = "vid:pid skip-reset, skip-refresh, skip-setconfig"
it's not help me any idea what i can do ?
If you find a fix please post it here as I have the exact same issue.
i didn't find any fix, suddenly it's started to work
Ok thanks. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get it to work.
Any reason why it starts to work for you?
I have the same issue.
using a USB hub or direct to USB 2 or 3 port on the PC
guest settings to USB 2.0
Host machine is Win7 pro x64
WS 12.5 (that I updated to WS14.1.1 but same problem.
Guest is: OSX High Sierra 10.13.2 (was originally El Capitan, and I update the os over the time)
iPhone 6 and 6s work like a charm, but not my new 8+
I have 2 devices that I need to switch to supervised mode and only Configurator 2 can do it on Mac only !!
On the host, USB device is working fine, can import pictures, it's listed in iTunes, when I connect to guest... it goes into a loop of connect/disconnect, I have to physical pull the USB for it to stop.
Out of the 2 devices, I open the guest using WorkstationPlayer 14, same result. But ONE time only, it work and I was able to supervise that devise (by the way on 11.1 and it did not ask me to update the device to 11.2.5) but now I reconnect that same device and looping !
I recreate a new guest machine from a fresh 10.13 source, same problem.
Use USB Oblivion to clean on the host any registry USB information...
What else can I try ?!?!
