View 6.2.3, users are being disconnected during pool recompose.

Users are being disconnected during a pool recompose despite the option for "Wait for users to log off." being selected. The users can reconnect to the previous VM and their apps are still running.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Recomposing is max'ing out the CPU which is causing other VM's to freeze and disconnect.

VMware support spotted that CBT was enabled and this causes issues depending on which version of ESX you are running. Originally it was off but It got turned back on by storage vmotioning.

Changed Block Tracking (CBT) on virtual machines (1020128) | VMware KB

https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&externalId=...

It would be nice if storage vmotion respected ctkDisallowed="true".
