Pre Requisites to check before creating VM-Host Affinity Rule ??

Hello All,

   I have requirement to create VM-Host affinity rule for the VMware clusters to run the MSSC clsuters should run on specific set of rules.

   I had created VM Group and added the VM's into the group and Host group from the web client. But, When I connected to VC using vsphere client, I Could not see the groups. Even I could  not see the option to create to group from the vsphere client. for the clusters which DRS is not enabled.

I know , vmotion is the back end feature used to migrate the VM to make VM compiant according to the Affinity rule applied to the VM. But would like to , is there any DRS is mandatory for the VM-Host affinity , as we could able to create VM and Host group wothout DRS from the web client.

The over all question in pre requisites to create VM-Host affinity rule in vsphere 6.0 environmnet.

In order to create, and use DRS-Rules, DRS has to be licensed, and enabled.

It's DRS which takes care that rules are not violated, and - in case it detects violations - moves VM's between hosts to fix them.
