ESXI always stripping outer vlan from incoming ethernet packets

I am running below:

You are running Dell Customized Image ESXi 5.5.0 Update 2 A01 (based on ESXi 5.5.0 VMKernel Release Build 2009162)

I have enabled "allow all VLAN" in vSwitch settings

Whenever a packet is received with VLAN tags ESXI stripping outer VLAN,

Let me know any configuration to be done to not strip outer VLAN...??

Hi there,

Can you post a shot of your vSwitch settings and port groups?

What are the hosts connected to on your physical switches, trunk or access ports?

What about the physical switch ports?

Also have you seen the tags being stripped from the packets or are there other symptoms that lead you to this conclusion?

Hi,

Please let me know how to get physical switch port settings? (What about the physical switch ports? )

Do you mean the my DUT switch or within ESXI ?

In last replay I have described my topology, but i hope it got truncated in the reply(sent reply from gmail)

I am reposting my toplolgy again:

My topology is as below:

+-------+             +---------+

|         | Tx--->----|           |

|  VM  |              |  DUT  |

|         | Rx---<----|           |

+-------+             +----------+

VM and DUT directly connected via optic cable no intermediate node.

Ethernet packets are generated by Traffic generator in VM.

Issue is also observed when Tx port and Rx port of VM are directly connected by cable in absence of DUT.

Please let me know if any more information is required
