The vSAN 6.6 Press Release states in the Pricing & Availability Section, "VMware vSAN 6.6 is expected to become available by May 5, 2017."
yeah good point Steven... It is an announcement as always with most VMware releases. Seems we (falsely) assume most people understand that, we should state clearly it is an announcement and that the release will follow. We (including us internally at VMware) are never allowed to mention a release date. I will make sure to, in the future, make it more clear it is just an announcement.
Good point. I would like to update here that vSAN 6.6 has been released now - VMware Virtual SAN 6.6 Release Notes

Steven, It's now since few years since VMware just "announces" new "releases". I got used to it, as I got "caught" in the past, and had to modify a blog posts to reflect the reality - product announced (not released). Once, but not twice.
As for the fact that some bloggers just copying other blogger's work, this exists. There is nothing we can do, except watermark our images and screenshots.
One thing to note is the fact that all the bloggers follow the same briefing from VMware, so we have an access to the same documentation, images, etc. It's usually better (for us) when we have a possibility to gen on an early access beta product and shoot our own images.
Anyway, how John Troyer would say, "The cat is out of the bag"...
