VMware Hardware Version Problem (VCSA 6.0)

What are the reason for this error? :smileyconfused: "This Virtual Machine uses Hardware Version 1, Which is no longer supported. Upgrade is recommended"

Which setting create this error during the creation of VM for windows and what are the steps to resolve this problem? :smileycool:

When you're getting this error? After a PDL? See the following on vSphere 6.0 U2 release notes: VMware ESXi 6.0 Update 2 Release Notes

Virtual machines affected by Permanent Device Loss do not failover

Virtual machines affected by Permanent Device Loss (PDL) do not power on in a failover host. The VM is left in an invalid state with a warning message stating that Hardware Version 1 is not recognized whenever there is a PDL of any of the storage hosting VM.

This issue is resolved in this release.

Like I said on my previous post, if that virtual machine as affected by a PDL, that explains the error. Can you confirm the exact build of your vCenter Server? And if you are still unable to power on that virtual machine, a workaround will be recreate a virtual machine and point to the existing virtual disks. Consider make a backup of your virtual disks and virtual machine files before create the new virtual machine.
