Writeable App Volume (v2.12)

Hi,

I am running App Volume 2.12.  I have writeable volumes being mounted to my instant clone desktops.  I am also using UEM to hide drives (A,B,C,D,E) on my desktops.

I need to set the DriveLetterSettings registry key to 6 so I can add extensions to Chrome as noted in VMware KB 2128266.  This change seems to work fine however when setting the DriveLetterSettings my local drives are no longer hidden.

Has anyone run into this before?

Thanks

Frank

Check if UEM Refresh after app volume mount helps.

They use the following key to make sure they can hide drives as does Windows.

It is a DWORD value that adds digits to its counter if you need to hide drives.

Fro A drive 1, for B drive 2, for C drive 4, for D drive 8 and so on and so forth.

In you case this key will be 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 = 31 before Appvolumes logs in.

What Appvolumes does (or at least that's my knowledge of it Smiley Happy) is it adds the number of the drive it needs to hide to this number. If in your case the writable uses the F drive it would correspond to number 32 thus changing this key to 63 effectively hiding drives A until F
