Ubuntu 16.10 not boot, freeze

I'm woking on windows 10 64bit on  vmware workstation 12.5.4. I install ubuntu 16.10 on vmware, its install succesfully, When its booting Its freeze at random time.

I search about 3 days from internet. I found a solution in the below.

  1. Edit Ubuntu VM Configuration file (.vmx)
  2. Add the following line cpuid.1.eax = "0000:0000:0000:0001:0000:0110:1010:0101"
  3. Save the configuration file
  4. Power on Ubuntu VM

Is there any fix for this situation?

There's a defect in Ubuntu 16.10 which can cause it to hang during boot when running on VMware virtualization products (and potentially other virtualization products, too).  If this is the same problem you're encountering there, it should already be resolved by an updated Linux kernel; just install all the latest updates in the guest OS, and the problem should go away.

I've posted another workaround in this thread:  Re: CPU disable on booting Ubuntu 16.10
