NSX update 6.2.5 > 6.2.6

Hi,

I'm updating NSX from 6.2.5 to 6.2.6 under ESXi 6.0u2.

Update of NSX Manager went without any issues, so I proceeded to the Installation > Host Preparation part expecting rolling restarts of ESXi hosts, followed by NSX Controller nodes updates and so on. However, I don't see any updates under Host Preparation section. Everything is green, and all four nodes report 6.2.5.4818372 under Installation Status.

Is this expected, and nothing needs to be updated on the host/NSX controller level between 6.2.5 and 6.2.6 versions?

Thank you.

In the release notes, it says the following:

New in 6.2.6

The 6.2.6 release primarily contains bug fixes for the multi-cipher issue and the OpenSSL upgrade. In 6.2.6, NSX Edge OpenSSL package is updated to 1.0.2j. For details, see the Resolved Issues section.

The resolved issues section says the following:

Resolved Issues

See what's resolved in 6.2.6, or in 6.2.5 and earlier.

Issues Resolved in NSX 6.2.6

6.2.6 resolved issues are grouped as follows:

Installation and Upgrade Resolved Issues in NSX 6.2.6

  • Fixed Issue 1767149/1782802: If there is a cipher chain listed that is separated by commas (","), then upgrade from NSX for vSphere 6.1.x, 6.2.0, and 6.2.1 to NSX for vSphere 6.2.5 fails
Starting 6.2.6, you can separate the ciphers with colons (":") instead of commas (",") before upgrade. Fixed in 6.2.6.

Networking and Edge Services Resolved Issues in NSX 6.2.6

  • Fixed Issue 1722988: NSX Edge OpenSSL package is not updated to 1.0.2j
In 6.2.6, NSX Edge OpenSSL package is updated to 1.0.2j. Fixed in 6.2.6.

So yes, this is expected. It does, however, mention "Networking and Edge Services", so you may need to upgrade ESGs if you have them deployed.
