ThinPrint with Zebra printers

Hello:

We've started testing some setups here that use Zebra printers for label printing.  We have the printers (Zebra GK420d) installed on our Thin clients running Windows 10, and we can print fine there.  The printers use TCP/IP printing from there, they are not directly attached to the Thin clients.  However, when we print from the VM to the ThinPrint device inside of the VM (also Windows 10), for the Zebra GK420d, we are getting about a quarter inch of the label and the rest is chopped off of the 4x6 label.  We can see the first bit of the label shown with the rest cut off (not printing).

I thought ThinPrint was supposed to pass through the settings and there was no configuration needed.  What else could we be missing here? We've checked through the list of settings under the ThinPrint devices that appear in the Devices and Printers in Windows, changed some of the setting, without any luck.

What else can we do, in order to get this to print?  We are doing a very simple test of printing a JPG image to the Zebra GK420d printer.

Thank you in advance,

We received a reply to our ticket and the solution was to set a custom page size in the Zebra printer driver.  Apparently there is a bug between some label printer drivers and Thinprint for this.  After setting a custom page size, and setting it to the default in the Zebra driver, Thinprint started working fine.

We've done additional testing, and found that sometimes nothing will print at all from the VM, even though printing directly from the thin client to the printer works every time.  Other printers continue to work fine within the VM, it's only affecting this single type of label printer.  Tried updated drivers and to me it seems to be a ThinPrint issue or with the TP printer driver.   It will spool to the printer in the VM, then quickly disappear and nothing will ever print.  Nothing seems to show up in the Windows logs either.

I ended up opening a ticket with VMware on this, as we need to troubleshoot this further.
