Installing Mac OS X on Workstation

Hi,

My desktop computer basic configuration is

  • Processor: AMD FX 8320,
  • Motherboard: Asus M5A97,
  • HD: WD Black 1TB,
  • RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 16GB, and
  • Graphics Card: 2GB Saphire 5450.
  • Installed OS: Windows 10 Enterprise

VMware Workstation Pro 12.5 is installed in my desktop computer.

I would like to install/ run OS X 10.11 El Capitan/ OS X 10.12 Sierra as a Guest OS on VMware Workstation.

Please guide me how to do this?

Regards

Hello,

Unfortunately Apple does not allow you to run a virtual macOS or OS X on non-Apple branded hardware.

Since this violates Apple's EULA (and as such the VMware Community Terms of Use), any issues you have with trying to run macOS or OS X using VMware Workstation or VMware Workstation Player cannot be discussed at this forum.

You'll need to have apple hardware and use a product like VMware Fusion or VMware ESXi and run a virtual copy of macOS / OS X on that in order for us to be able to help you.

We just cannot help you here with this particular issue.

Hope you understand,

Hi,

If my post is irrelevant to this forum, I am sorry for this.

Please let me know one thing, if processor would be of Intel family, will I be able to install/ run OS X 10.11 El Capitan/ OS X 10.12 Sierra as a Guest OS on VMware Workstation?

Hi,

No need to apologize really.

It does not matter what kind of processor your computer has.

The problem is that you cannot install macOS/OS X on VMware Workstation and comply with the legal requirements that apple has setup.

That is the main reason we cannot help you here.

You need to have apple hardware and run an operating system that has been approved by apple to run a virtual instance of their software on.

Hi,

I would thank you for suggestion.

I have a friend having same desktop computer (like mine desktop computer).

He is using macOS as a Virtual OS. Unfortunately, he is not in my contact.

I don't know what he did and how he did.

I did more Google search but didn't find satisfactory result.

That's why I put my query here.
