How to enable Secure Boot in a guest VM with VMWare Workstation 10?

Hello:

For testing purposes I need to install Windows 10 into a VM with a "Secure boot" feature enabled.

Is there a way to do it in VMWare Workstation 10?

See: Using EFI/UEFI firmware in a VMware Virtual Machine

You need at least Workstation 11 or newer.

The only VMware product with support for guest Secure Boot is ESXi 6.5.  Secure Boot support is on the radar for future Workstation releases, but it's not in any public release at this stage.  Workstation 11 and newer include EFI support but not Secure Boot support.

If you absolutely must use Workstation 10, the best suggestion I have is to run ESXi 6.5 nested inside Workstation 10... although Workstation 10 does not officially support ESXi 6.5 as a guest, so I can't say that's a recommended approach, but it might work if you are lucky...

Cheers,
