OS Monitoring with vROPs Dashboard

Anyone have generic dashboard ideas for collecting useful stats on OSes within a vROPs environment? I have vROPs 6.3 currently and want to monitor anything from the Underlying VM resources to the OS type and performance stats. Not sure where to start..

It depends on what you want to monitor from the OS will determine the effort you will need to go through. Vrops is starting to add more and more in guest metric so if they will do you are good. If you need more in depth metric they you may need to install the End point operations agent which will allow for service monitoring and so on but this may require re arcetect you vrops to handle the workload.

There is no one dashboard for this as everyone requirements are different. a good place to start would be. Take a look at vXpress there is a good dashboard repository that might give you good ideas

I would potentially look into End Point Operations, it is an agent you can deploy on both virtual/physical machines to gather OS level metrics and monitor specific applications:

VMware Documentation Library.

The Solution comes with vROps, so all you need is the Agent installed on a target machine and point it to one of the vROps Nodes!
