ESX, LLDP and DCB informational message with Intel X710

I have a server with ESX 6.0 update 2 that has Intel X710 NIC card and ESXi states that the LLDP is not available on this adapter. Does anyone know if DCB or LLDP will work in ESX for the X710 NIC? Is it possible that the X710 has an agent that intercepts the LLDP frames for this card only? Does the DCB and LLDP in ESX work with any NIC?

LLDP is enabled in your physical switch? Anyway, check the following thread found on Intel forum: X710 dropping LLDP frames ? |Intel Communities

Hi

Did you get anywhere with this? Might have encountered similar problem at one customer.

We are seeing the same behaviour on a recent ESXi 6.0 image. The X710 adapter blocks all LLDP traffic, presumably because the DCB functionality onboard the card is receiving those packets and not passing them on.

Intel, please offer us a way to disable DCB on X710 on ESXi. Your adapter breaks our network by preventing switches and ESXi from exchanging LLDP.

Yes please this needs to be fixed. I hope VMware is really pressuring Intel. Anyone know?
