Hello,
After several searches on the web, I still don't have the answer to my question/issue.
I run Mac OS Sierra VM on an host (Mac Os Sierra..) and I would like my guest OS connect to a VPN within this guest OS.
My host is connected by wifi. It can connect to the VPN I want with success.
Host and guest OS are set with static IP address for each one, I don't want use DHCP.
My guest OS, which use a bridge with the host, is connected to (the same) wifi.
I use Mac Os VPN client.
I don't want my host connect to this VPN.
I tried the connection with Nat between host and guest, it works if I put DHCP on guest OS.
Is what I want possible on VmWare Fusion 8 Pro ?
Do I have to use another VPN client ?
Is there a Fusion config file to edit on host ?
Thanks for your help.
QC.

You can use the build-in L2TP client inside your Mac OS guest, here are steps:
'Apple' icon -> System Preferences -> Network -> '+' -> VPN-> L2TP, then enter your vpn server information.
Hi nancyz,
I already did this, like I did it on my host.
It does not work on my guest OS, with same settings.
The only way the VPN authentification works on my guest OS is to set "Share with my Mac" on Fusion and set DHCP connection for my guest OS.
But it is not what I want.
Thanks
Hi ZenGen,
Which VPN server are you using? And is there any error message when this issue happen? Thanks .
Nancy
Hi,
I'm don't know about the server, I don't have access,
Finally, I wrote to helpdesk, they don't have answer for now.
I decided to abandon the use of VM Fusion for my work. Too much issue with Fusion or lack of functionalities I need.
But I wait for a solution from technical support.
I will let an answer if I have one.
thanks
Did you happen to find a solution for this. I am experiencing the same issue. I use Mac OSX El Captain on host and virtual guest with Fusion Pro. I have tried to connect to L2TP and SSL vpn's. Neither will connect via the guest. Host connect fine. I even worked with VMware support and provided no help.
Hi nomad777 ,
Which network connection is your VM using, NAT or Bridged?
It is set for Bridged. I had a VMware specialist remote into my host OS and try several different settings and etc without success. His comment was it works on his so it should work on mine and gave up as to why it was not working.
