VCSA 6.5 adding to domain

This is a new VCSA 6.5 adn the domain is almost new.

When trying to add the VCSA to Active Directory it is reporting:

Idm client exception: Error trying to join AD, error code [41887], user [administrator@domain], domain [domain.com], orgUnit [Computers]

Have not found a message that will help me with this error.

Tried to do it from the cli using SSH but it failed also.

Hi,

I had the same issue, tried for some days, checked documentation,...

Always the same error code 41887

In my case, the domain join worked, after entering the user name without domain name, not as mentioned in the documentation.

Your user must have rights to join a new object into the domain - had the same issue - tried a other user and than it worked

I had the same issue on VCSA v6.5.0.22000:

- Join domain in GUI error: Idm client exception: Error trying to join AD, error code [41887]

- Join domain in CLI error: Idm client exception: Error trying to join AD, error code [42500]

End up with the following fix:

In my case, had to join the domain using "admin.user@domain.local", not to global alias domain name "admin.user@domain.com"
