NVMe compartibility problem

Hi!

nvme-1.JPG

I turn on allflash vSAN cluster, I use HGST Ultrastar SN150 HUSPR3216AHP301, and vshpere shows them correct.

But vSAN health check shows warning.

health check shows HGST Ultrastar SN100 - it is not correct

and performance is very poor...

SN100 and my SN150 are compartible in HCL with vSAN 6.2

What should I do resolve?

You can't solve this yourself, could be a mistake in the HCL database in terms of identifier for this particular device. Please contact support and file a request to get this fixed.

I just saw someone reporting something similar internally, will get the engineering team to look at it as well. Please post the SR if you have reported one so I can also use that.

Okay, apparently this is a known issue. It should be resolved in vSAN 6.5 and will also be fixed in the upcoming 6.0 Update release.

So, Is the only solution - to wait for the upcoming 6.0 Update release?

I have no support, because I use trial vSphere in my test environment.

This is a cosmetic "issue". I run into this on a weekly basis. NVMe does not have a separate entry in the HCL DB, so it will always show a warning from the health status. Per your snapshots, you can see that HCL driver version is N/A, because currently there is no entry in the HCL. This is being worked on, so I was told. As long as your driver version matches the VCG, you should be good.
