VDP 6.1.3 esxi 5.1 compatibility

Currently the interoperability matrix states that ESXi 5.1 is compatible with VDP 6.1.3.  I don't believe this is accurate.  With VDP 6.1.3 using VDDK 6.5 I don't believe this is supported.  The VDDK release notes say 6.5 was not tested to be compatible to work with esxi 5.1.

I have a customer with VDP 6.1.3 and ESXi 5.1 and the VM backups fail with a bunch of connection and SSL errors in the job logs.  Long story why this scenario happened and will be easy enough to update esxi to 5.5.   Regardless I believe the interoperability matrix should be corrected.

I can confirm this.

There has been a lot of compatibility issue with ESXi 5.1 and VDP 6.1.3

There has been NFC ticket issue, failed to add disk, SSL connection errors, LVM errors and so on.....

I have been able to get this reproduced in-house, but the test results are little tricky as they tend to work / not work on random basis.

My suggestion would be not to use VDP 6.1.3 if you are running ESXi 5.1
