Installing DNS Server (Windows Server 2012 R2) on VMware Workstation 12 Pro

Hi Everyone,

I have installed a Windows Server 2012 R2 (64bit) on my laptop (Win10 64 bit) via VMware Workstation 12 Pro, I will using it for a DNS Server.

I use Bridged (Automatic) for the Network Adapter config, and I setup the Guest IP address with static IP.

- Host Ethernet config :

   IP Add = 192.168.1.100

   Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0

   Default Gateway = 192.168.1.254

- Guest Ethernet config :

   IP Add = 192.168.1.200

   Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0

   Default Gateway = 192.168.1.254

I already setup the DNS features from the Win Server 2012, and I can ping both from Host to Guest and also from Guest to Host. From DNS then I add a new Zone and create a new Host (A) record, and I give the IP Add = 192.168.1.205.

The problem is when I try to ping 192.168.1.205 from the Guest OS, it came with RTO.

I wonder if there's network configuration that I've missed.

Thanks for any thoughts on this
