'VSAN.DedupScope' is invalid or exceeds the maximum number of characters permitted.

Hi all,

We have a customer that does NOT have vSAN configured on any hosts, and we are seeing the following error popping up for one of their newly built ESXi 6.0 Update 2 hosts:

Update option values

'VSAN.DedupScope' is invalid or exceeds the maximum number of characters permitted.

com.vmware.vsan.health

Anyone know why this error would be manifesting itself when the customer is not using vSAN?

We also see various "com.vmware.vsan.health" service updating options values across all hosts on a regular basis.  Any way to disable this extra chatter when vSAN is not in use?

Thanks,

Bill

Good morning, I think you'll want to check out this thread:  Any harm in disabling the VSAN Health Service?

You can either ignore it or disable it.  Thank you, Zach.
