Easiest way to import template on remote slow-WAN 5.1 host

We have a vCenter in HQ, and several 5.1 hosts deployed in regional ROBO offices over slow WAN links. I want to get a VMTemplate (which I also have in OVA format) to each ROBO host but I don't want to use the vSphere client in HQ obviously. Anyone got suggestions on the most efficient way to get a template copied to a ROBO and imported? Do I really have to install vSphere Client on a ROBO location VM?

I think, you have two options:

  1. Export and share your template on a medium such as external hard disk or on a share file service or cloud storage (That's less safe)
  2. Deploy replication solution to replicate your machine between sites (That's more expensive and difficult)
