I have some questions
1 - i have vsphere with operation manager enterprise plus 6 so if i use Log Insight for vcenter . is there any limitation for esxi or vm etc...
2- I have cisco switchs and emc vnx 5400 storage . can i use Log Insight for it . can i take all logs of switch and storage
3- What is the difference between Arcsight and Log Insight .
1. If you have CPU license for Log Insight, there is no limit. If you got per OSI license it limited.
2. Log Insight can support syslog from any devices that supports syslog. Again depentend on licens you have the EULA might allow it or not.
3. Can't say really. But ArcInsight it more work and more money. Log Insight is simple and easy to use.
Hello,
1 - i have vsphere with operation manager enterprise plus 6 so if i use Log Insight for vcenter . is there any limitation for esxi or vm etc.. - No there is no limitation, other than those imposed by the license type.
2- I have cisco switchs and emc vnx 5400 storage . can i use Log Insight for it . can i take all logs of switch and storage - Yes you can, we have content packs for these products as well that you can use with Log Insight for free based on your license type
3- What is the difference between Arcsight and Log Insight . - Archsight is obviously not a VMware product, so I'd receommend Log Insight which has a tighter integration with vCenter and vROps. Log Insight is better in terms of cost effectiveness compared to most other Log Analytics tools. And you might even be able to use your vCenter license 25 OSI pack in Log Insight ( which is a limited license that you can buy a full Log Insight license convert these 25 OSI pack to a full license with purchase) or if you have purchased vSphere Suite then use your Suite license in Log Insight.
Hello,
if you dont have an additional Log Insight License I think you use vRealize Log Insight for vCenter and not the full product.
