Service Name on VR for Network Compression of VR Data

Is there any service running on VR appliance or esxi which is responsible for Network Compression of VR Data?

Hi,

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the source ESXi vSCSI filter does the compression of VR LWD traffic in kernel space.

At the destination site:

- if the ESXi is recent version, the compressed replication delta is sent over NFC to the ESXi and the target ESXi does the decompression.

- if the ESXi does not support compressed NFC, VR server (hbrsrv) does the decompression and forwards uncompressed data over NFC to the target datastore.
